World Cup of Beer 2008 - Entry Instructions and Additional Information

  1. Submit three 10-17 ounce brown bottles with no distinguishing marks on the bottle or cap. Well blacked out caps are OK. Nip bottles (6-8 oz.) are OK for Barley Wine.

  2. Cut out the labels on the following page and affix an Entry Label with the requisite information to each bottle with rubber band(s). Do not use more than 2 rubber bands per bottle. Be sure to include the Entry Number, the BJCP category code (e.g. 2B for Bohemian Pilsner) and the Style Name. No limit on the number of entries an individual may submit. Copy the label page as needed. If you have any special instructions or notes, please note them both on the labels and the entry form.
  3. Please complete the Entry information form below ONE TIME only for each entrant .
  4. Enclose $7 per entry (checks only please, made out to the “Bay Area Mashers”).
  5. All entries sent through the mail should be sent to the Berkeley Oak Barrel location below. Pack your entries carefully and time them to arrive between February 8 and March 8, 2008.

  2. Categories may be collapsed (combined) if the number of entries warrants.
  3. Final judging is on Saturday, March 29th. Following the judging, all entrants are invited to our post-judging party at Trumer Brauerei (1404 Fourth St., Berkeley, CA), starting at 1 p.m.
  4. Ribbons and prizes are awarded to the top three finishers in each category during our awards ceremony starting at approximately 3:30 p.m. Ribbons will be mailed however due to the nature of the prizes donated first selection will go to those present at the awards ceremony.  Winners not present should contact us regarding prizes other than ribbons.
  5. On or after March 30, we will post the results (as soon as possible) on our website.
  6. We will try to get the score sheets in the mail by April 30, along with any ribbons that were not picked up during the Awards Ceremony on March 29.
