It’s that time of year again—time to get your best recipes out and start thinking about your award-winning creation for the 16th Annual World Cup of Beer Homebrew Competition. The Bay Area Mashers are proud to continue our tradition of running one of the best competitions in Northern California, and we’d love to see your entry for the chance to win great prizes, awards and of course, bragging rights. The competetition is open to everyone, regardless of location. Last year we had 440 entries with submissions from across the US!
After the Final judging on April 3rd, we’ll host the Awards Ceremony and party at the Trumer Brauerei in Berkeley, where entrants and their guests are welcome to enjoy great beer, food, music, fun and a raffle with great prizes. Ribbons and prizes will awarded to all winners at the ceremony, and for those winners unable to attend, ribbons and prizes will be mailed out.
World Cup16 will be open to all styles and sub-styles of beer, mead, and cider, in BJCP categories 1 through 28 (see BJCP website listed below for more information on these categories).
The 2010 World Cup of Beer is a regional qualifying event for the Masters Championship of Amateur Brewing (MCAB), a national homebrew competition dedicated to providing the finest judging. To enter the MCAB, you must win a first place in an MCAB qualifying style in one of the 17 MCAB qualifying events. MCAB qualifying styles this year are BJCP categories 1-19 & 22.
Our 16th Annual World Cup is sanctioned by the American Homebrewers Association and the Beer Judge Certification Program.
Entry window opens Friday, February 19, Entry Deadline: Saturday, March 13, 2010 (See entry instruction sheet for drop off and mail-in locations)
